Title:	Ancient Sentinels
	Notes:	This image was photographed in Redwood National Forest in northern California in May of 2006.  The scale of these majestic trees is difficult to capture in a two dimensional image without taking a great deal of time to properly orient the giant trees in such a way that it gives the viewer a “presence” in the photograph.  This was my primary goal in creating this print.  These great trees have been a favorite subject for many great photographers through out the years and it is easy to understand why once you have viewed them in person.  For me, these trees seem to inspire a sense of awe and grandeur.  I used the Mamiya RZ67 with the 50mm ULD lens (tripod mounted and mirror-up) to expose this scene on Kodak Portra 400 VC negative film.
