This image was
photographed shortly following the break of day May 20,
2005. I had walked down to the water front in
the dark and waited for first light when this image
presented itself. I used the Mamiya RZ67 with the
Mamiya Sekor 50mm wide angle lens to expose this scene
on Kodak Portra 400VC negative film. For some
strange reason my time here provoked memories of
photographing similar scenes of boats in the fog in New
England several years earlier. There is a haunting
quality related to fog which almost adds another
dimension to an image if exposed and printed properly.
