This
backlit scene was photographed in Zion Canyon National Park
in Utah along side the Virgin River. I used the Mamiya
RZ67 with the Mamiya Sekor 50mm wide angle lens to expose
this image on Kodak Portra 160VC negative film. The
sun had begun to get low in the sky when I photographed this
scene. From this time of day until dark in this canyon
some dramatic and awe inspiring lighting effects take place.
It is one of my favorite places to practice the art of
landscape photography. |
