This image was
photographed late one afternoon using the Mamiya RZ67
Pro II with the Mamiya Sekor 50mm ULD wide angle lens
(tripod mounted, mirror-up with cable release) on Kodak
Portra 160VC negative film. This was a very
difficult image to photograph, scan and print due to the
extreme difference in light intensity on the mountain
remaining in the sun and the cottonwoods on the canyon floor
in the shadow.
However, this is the way in which I perceived the scene
in my view finder
when I photographed it late that afternoon. If ever there was a place
deserving the description "Majestic" Zion Canyon is
certainly it. A remarkably beautiful place. |
