This image was
photographed in Georgia using the Mamiya RZ67 with the
Mamiya Sekor 140mm Macro lens (Tripod mounted and
mirror-up) on Kodak Portra 400VC negative film. These
large blooms with a sweet fragrance are found through
out the south. Proper exposure is quite a challenge
since the leaves of the Magnolia are very dark green and
the cream white pedals of the flower in the sun are
almost incandescent. However, once a proper exposure is
accomplished the resulting print is quite striking. |
