This image was
photographed in the winter of 2000 with a Mamiya RZ-67 using
a Mamiya Sekor 50mm ULD wide angle lens on Kodak Portra 160
VC negative film. It was very late in the day and it was
cold. Contrast was softening and a
reddish to yellow hue was becoming evident.
The aspect of this composition which excited
me was the beautiful pattern in the sand left by a storm the
night before. In addition, if the print is examined closely
you can actually see where the sea oats being blown by the
wind have traced a design into the sand in intricate detail.
For me this is an especially appreciated print because it
was a very special moment and a very beautiful place. |
