This image was
photographed at dusk at White Sands National Monument in
New Mexico. I am told that these dunes are
composed largely of gypsum which accounts for the
exceptionally white and very fine sand. The colors
are quite dramatic especially early in the morning and
late in the afternoon. I used the Mamiya RZ67 with
the Mamiya Sekor 50mm wide angle lens to expose this
scene on Fuji Velvia transparency film rated at ISO 40.
The exposure was made with the camera tripod mounted and
mirror locked up. |
