| Title: | Fallen Redwood | ||
| Notes: |
This image was photographed in the Jedidiah Smith Redwoods State Park in northern California early one morning in June of 2006. I confess that I had long hoped to find an area with such large ferns and Redwoods. There had been intermittent rain and mist that morning which worked to produce a lush wet appearance throughout this composition. Conditions were cool and moist and all the limbs and branches seemed to be covered with the green moss-like growth so often seen in the rain forests found in this region. The fallen redwood in the center seemed to be surrounded by ferns as if they were attending a wake. I captured this image using the Mamiya RZ67 with the 50mm ULD lens tripod mounted and mirror-up on Kodak Portra 400 VC negative film. |
