| Title: | First Light over Lipan Point | ||
| Notes: |
This print was photographed in the spring of 2005 on the south rim of the Grand Canyon in Arizona. I was about 30-45 minutes following the break of day and the sun’s rays were almost horizontal. There is an extreme tonal range in this print from near absolute black to intense highlights. Contrast is extreme which enhances the light play on all the faces of the vast canyons and rock formations. It was a technically difficult print to accomplish but well worth the effort. I used the Mamiya RZ67 with the Sekor 140mm lens (tripod mounted and mirror-up) to expose this image on Kodak Portra 400 VC negative film. |
