This print was photographed in the Jedidiah Smith Redwood Forest in northern California in May of 2006.  When I found this spot early on a cool misty morning I had to check to be sure I was not dreaming.  It was too good to be true.  There was much detail which is vital to a good composition and rich color.  I photographed the scene with the Mamiya RZ67 with the 50mm ULD lens (tripod mounted and mirror –up) on Kodak Portra 400 VC negative film.
