This print was photographed in June of 2006 late in the afternoon in small community of Jerico Texas.  On my last trip out west I had passed this grain bin late one afternoon when the sun was setting and recall the intense contrast produced by the late sun’s virtually horizontal rays as they played on the old bin.  I was unable to stop at that time to photograph the scene but on my last return trip from out west I stopped and photographed the old grain bin.  This image is the result of that afternoon’s effort.  I used the Toyo 4x5 GX view camera with the Schneider 240mm F5.6 Apo-Symmar lens to expose this scene on Kodak Portra 160 VC negative film.
