This image was photographed in the Great
Smokey Mountain National Park in the Fall of 2003. I studied
the scene for several days and determined the late afternoon
would be the most appropriate time to make the exposure. It
was at this time that the sun caught the leaves on the
hardwood and contrasted it with the mountain side in the
shade behind the red hardwood. I used the Mamiya RZ67 with
the Mamiya Sekor 140mm lens to expose the image on Kodak
Portra 400VC negative film. These woodlands in the mountains
are an awe inspiring sight in the autumn. |
