This
image was photographed in Death Valley National Park in
spring of 2005. This is a desolate region where
vegetation is sparse due to the salt which seems to
permeate everything. I used the Mamiya RZ67 with
the Mamiya Sekor 50mm lens to expose this scene on Kodak
Portra 400VC negative film. Thankfully there was a
cloud cover which allowed a greater tonal range to be
recorded and was a great asset in making this print.
