This image was photographed
early in the morning in the spring of 2005 in Yosemite
National Park. The roar from the Merced was deafening
but I was captured by this scene which I viewed in my view
finder. I used the Mamiya RZ67 to photograph the image on
Kodak Portra 400VC negative film. I wanted the water
to: “paint” on the film in order to convey the sense of
speed and force with which the stream was running.
Therefore, I made several exposures at various shutter
speeds in order to achieve the effect I was seeking.
This print was the result of those adjustments. |
