This image was made in the
Tremont region of the Great Smokey Mountain National Forest.
It was made early one winter morning and it was extremely cold.
I recall that when I began to set up to make this exposure
the lens which I had just taken out of my vest fogged over
as did the eye piece on the camera and as I waited for them
to acclimate to the surrounding temperature I could see my
breath hanging in the air. The exposure was made using the Mamiya RZ67 with the Mamiya
Sekor 50mm ULD lens (tripod mounted and mirror up) on Kodak
Portra 160 NC negative film. The exposure was long to
allow the moving water to paint on the film. Over time
this has become one of my favorite prints. |
