This was one of the most
difficult exposures I have ever made. This image was taken late
one winter afternoon on a very cold and over cast day. The exposure
was made using the Toyo 4x5 view camera with the Schneider 72mm
wide angle lens with a Schneider center filter on Kodak Portra 160 NC negative film.
I found the spot where I wanted to make the exposure out in
the middle of the stream on a rock about three feet in
diameter. It was on this spot that I set up the
tripod, set up the camera, composed the scene and made the
exposure. During this time the light was diminishing
so rapidly I did not know if I would be able to effect the
exposure. The exposure was long (10 sec. +) and the flow of water is
accentuated as a result. Indeed, a uniquely beautiful
place. |
