This old shrimp boat had
been abandoned and served as a roosting place for
various sea birds especially the
cormorant. The image was made on an over
cast day early in the morning. The exposure was
made on a Toyo 4x5 view camera using a Schneider 240
APO-Symmar f/5.6 lens on Fuji Velvia transparency
(sheet) film. This was
one of those situations which seem too good to be true.
The scene itself was captivating but in addition the
cloud cover which was picked up in the surface of the
water and soft early morning lighting combined to
create this timeless print. It is indeed rare that
one happens up on such a beautiful scene.
