| Title: | Old Door at Golden Foundry | ||
| Notes: |
This photograph was made in Columbus Georgia at Golden Foundry near the rail yard late in the afternoon on a summer day. As I walked down the long side walk in front of the old foundry this old door caught my eye. The sun had dropped low in the sky and the rays hitting this old door were virtually horizontal resulting in an accentuation of every dent or scrape that the old door had ever received. It also emphasized the peeling paint and countless shades of gray displayed on the face of this old door. In addition the shadow thrown by the brick wall along the left side of the composition is strikingly dark but still has detail. I used the Mamiya RZ67 with the Sekor 140mm Macro lens (tripod mounted and mirror-up) to expose this image on Kodak Portra 160 VC negative film. |
