Conditions were cool and moist and all the limbs and branches seemed to be covered with the green moss-like growth so often seen in the rain forests found in this region.   This image was photographed in the Jedidiah Smith Redwoods State Park in northern California early one morning in June of 2006.  I confess that I had long hoped to find an area with such large ferns and Redwoods.  There had been intermittent rain and mist that morning which worked to produce a lush wet appearance throughout this composition.   I captured this image using the Mamiya RZ67 with the 50mm ULD lens tripod mounted and mirror-up on Kodak Portra 400 VC negative film.
