I photographed this
image the evening of August 29, 2001 about dusk using the
Mamiya RZ67 with the 140mm Sekor lens tripod mounted and
mirror up. The image was exposed on Kodak Portra
400 NC negative film. Old boats and lighthouses
seem to have a special place in the hearts of
photographers and the coast of Maine have both. I have developed quite a
respect for these old lights after realizing how
critically important they are in keeping passing vessels
off the rocks. Each seems to have a unique
character of it's own.
This is indeed a beautiful old sentinel. |
