| Title: | Pebbles and Spray, Rialto Beach | ||
| Notes: |
I photographed this scene in May of 2006 at Rialto Beach Washington. It was a dark day; A day of strong wind and blowing rain. The seas were high and strong as they broke along the beach. It is difficult to describe this dramatic landscape unless you have been there and experienced the place. The dark stones which comprise this unique beach along with the fine spray in the air and the rock formations off shore combine to make one of the most striking compositions I have ever photographed. Another important component in the print is the driftwood which was found along the entire beach and added a needed component to this final print. I used the Mamiya RZ67 with the 50mm ULD lens to expose this scene on Kodak Portra 400 VC negative film. |
