Notes: |
To say that this is an out
of the way place is a profound understatement. It was
sixty miles to the turn-off to Race Track and from that
point on over wash board roads was another twenty-nine
miles. However, the uniqueness of this place makes it
worth the bruising drive. It is big; It is high and it
is austere. For this image I used the Mamiya RZ67 with
the 37mm lens to expose the scene on Kodak Portra 400VC
negative film. This place has a distinctly “other
worldly” appearance I have never seen in any other location.
