Big
trees, thick fog and a sense of imminent presence combine to
capture the essence of this place. I found the scene in Yosemite
National Park in spring of 2005 and used the Mamiya RZ67
with the Mamiya Sekor 140mm lens to photograph this image on
Kodak Portra 160VC negative film. Fog possesses a
haunting quality which can both hide and isolate the
subjects found in a landscape and for me it became an
important component of this composition. |
