Title:

Sequoia in the Fog

Notes:

Big trees, thick fog and a sense of imminent presence combine to capture the essence of this place.  I found the scene in Yosemite National Park in spring of 2005 and used the Mamiya RZ67 with the Mamiya Sekor 140mm lens to photograph this image on Kodak Portra 160VC negative film.  Fog possesses a haunting quality which can both hide and isolate the subjects found in a landscape and for me it became an important component of this composition.
