This image was photographed
late in the afternoon across Jenny Lake in the Grand Teton
National Park. This was a complex image for me both to
photograph and to scan and print. The exposure
latitude was very narrow because the tonal range or light
intensity range was so great. It was in excess of a
year after I photographed the scene before I made the
finished print. Ever since I photographed it the scene
became fixed in my mind and resulted in the investment of
many hours and a lot of effort in order to put on the media
what I saw in my view finder that day. I used the Mamiya RZ67 Pro II with the
Mamiya Sekor 50mm ULD f/4.5 lens (tripod mounted and mirror
up) to expose this image on Kodak Portra 160VC negative
film. |
