| Title: | Stones on Rialto Beach Oregon | ||
| Notes: |
This image is a macro of beach pebbles along Rialto Beach in Washington on the Olympic Peninsula. This is one of the most northeasterly regions in the continental United States. It was a wet and very windy day and the image was photographed under cover of an umbrella. These stones literally cover the beaches here along with tremendous stacks of driftwood. The stones appear almost universally black but when seen closely, as in this macro shot, it becomes evident that there are multicolored pebbles as well. The detail in these stones when viewed closely is striking because the same stone may have many patterns and several colors. I used the RZ67 with the 140mm Mamiya Sekor Macro lens to expose this image on Kodak Portra 400 VC negative film. |
