| Title: | Tetons Predawn Elegance | ||
| Notes: |
I had scouted this spot the day prior to shooting the scene and decided to photograph the Tetons as the sun rose to my back the following morning. I arrived at the spot while it was completely dark and set up my tripod and mounted the camera (Mamiya RZ67 with the 50mm ULD lens) and was allowing my eyes to adjust to the predawn darkness. As my eyes adjusted I noticed that I was not alone. There was a Coyote about twenty yards to my right and a moose even closer on my left. Thankfully they were congenial allowed me to remain unthreatened. The Tetons were breathtaking even at night. However, as the predawn light began to lighten the sky behind me the scene in front began to assume a blush or hue that appeared almost surreal. It was during this period that I made this exposure. The film used was Kodak Portra 160 VC and the exposure was extended (approximately 8 seconds). |
