This image was photographed
in the pre-dawn hours May 26 in the Grand Teton Nation Park.
I used the Mamiya RZ-67 and the 140mm lens (tripod mounted
and mirror up) to expose this scene on Kodak Portra 400VC
negative film. As providence would have it I was in
the Tetons at the time of the full moon in May and was able
to capture this scene. The evening prior my wife and I
had waited for several hours to photograph the moonrise but
found it obscured by clouds. This image was
photographed shortly before day break the following morning. The moon
is setting in this scene
and I was able to capture this as it dropped behind the
