This image was photographed
shortly after the break of day on the rim trail near to
Mohave Point on the south rim of the Grand Canyon in
Arizona. I used the Mamiya RZ67 Pro II with the Mamiya
Sekor 37mm f/4.5 lens (tripod mounted, mirror-up and with
cable release to expose this image on Kodak Portra 160VC
negative film. I was told that the Abyss is a shear 3000 foot drop to
the canyon floor below and the view on the morning I took
this photograph can not be expressed with mere words. Therefore, I
will simply let the print speak for itself. Soli Deo
