This image was photographed in the
"Big Bend" area of Zion Canyon late one afternoon using the
Mamiya RZ-67 with a Mamiya Sekor 500mm APO telephoto lens
mounted on a tripod on Fuji Velvia transparency film.
I recall struggling because the light was diminishing so
rapidly and the wind was so strong. I had the camera
mounted on a tripod with mirror locked up and I recall
holding my breath waiting for a break in the wind to make
the exposure with a cable release. This is one of the most majestic images I have ever beheld
