This image was
photographed at Seaside beach in late summer of 2003
just prior to night fall. The lens captured almost
the entire scene in front of me imparting a large vista
or sense of scale to the print. The soft warm
colors in the sky are from the late hour in the day.
It seems to me that at this particular time of day that
the clouds and the delicate detail associated with them
become more evident as the sun sinks on the horizon and
light rays become more horizontal. I used the Mamiya RZ67
with the Mamiya Sekor 37mm
APO
ultra-wide angle lens, tripod mounted and mirror locked
up, to expose this scene on Kodak Portra 400VC negative
film. |
