This image was photographed early
one morning in 1975 at Lake Moraine in western Canada. I
used a Mamiya RB67 and a 50mm Mamiya wide angle lens to
expose the image on Kodak VPS 160 negative film. The scale
in this composition
is great. I recall that much of western Canada seemed to
display a sense of scale and majesty I have found in few
other places I have visited. There are ice fields beyond the glacier seen
peeking
between the mountains. I remember standing where I made this
exposure and there was an almost reverent silence that
morning as I watched the clouds drifting over the surface of
the lake and moving in and out of the ten peaks. This is indeed a beautiful and
spell-binding place. |
