This image was
photographed in the Smokey Mountains just as the early
morning fog had broken. I recall that it was damp and
cold but the conditions worked to magnify the striking
color of the fall leaves. I used the Mamiya RZ87 with
the Mamiya Sekor 50mm lens (tripod mounted and
mirror-up) to expose this scene on Kodak Portra 160VC
negative film. I recall thinking that it was as if an
artist had taken the most brilliant colors from his oils
and brushed them in bold swatches on the dark background
between the mountains. |
